Head Coach

Rusty Walker

Coach Walker is excited to begin his 10th year as head boys’ basketball coach at Hallsville.

After graduating from Terry High School in Rosenberg, Walker went on to letter 4 years in men's basketball at the University of North Texas while also earning a BBA in Finance. Additionally, he holds a MA from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.

Rusty and his wife, Elizabeth, have a 14-year-old son (Barrett) and a 12-year-old daughter (Sydney).

During his career, Walker has also coached in Little Cypress - Mauriceville, Boswell, Justin-Northwest, Richland College, Belton, FSu Academy - Iceland, and Waco-Midway.

Coach Walker firmly believes that "Enthusiasm Makes the Difference".

Assistant Coach

Nikelas Simmons

Coach Simmons' is in his 1st year with Hallsville Basketball. He is a graduate of White Oak HS and The University of Texas at Tyler. Coach Simmons earned a bachelor's of science degree in history and threw the hammer on the men's track and field team. He previously coached one year at Wichita Falls HS. Coach Simmons and his wife G'Gi have been married for 2 years.

A.J. Jones

Coach Jones' 3rd year with Hallsville Basketball follows his return to his alma mater, where he graduated in 2009. He played football at Southern Arkansas University, where he graduated in 2014 with a degree in Sports Management. He has previously worked at Pine Tree and Center. Coach Jones has a 12-year-old son named Malik.
