ET Boys Basketball: Hallsville wins two

HALLSVILLE WINS TWO: ROYSE CITY — Hallsville went 2-0 on the day in the Rains Tournament, knocking off Greenville and Royse City.

In a 68-45 win over Greenville, Hallsville, which surged to a 24-14 lead after the first quarter, was paced by 16 points from Blaine Parker. Shadd Burg added 12 and Brendarian Dawson had 11 for the Bobcats, who had four more scorers with at least five points.

Parker rounded out the day with 31 points in a 67-52 win for the Bobcats (4-0) over Royse City. Chris Timberlake added 11 points, Dawson nine and Kameron Fitzpatrick six for the Bobcats, who face host Rains at 10 a.m. today and Quinlan at 6 p.m.

In other tournament action, the Hallsville junior varsity team fell to Quinlan's varsity, 76-62, and took a 57-46 win over Rains' varsity squad.
