Hallsville Bobcats at Decatur Tournament


Varsity Basketball attended the Decatur tournament December 10-12, 2015. The results are as follows:

Game 1:

December 10 - Hallsville 64 - Levelland 48

Hallsville took a 37-27 lead into halftime and went on to claim a 64-48 win over the Levelland Lobos.

Hallsville was led in scoring by Blaine Parker with 18 and Nolan Johnson with 10. Additional scorers for the Bobcats were Johnathan Mitchell with 8, Ryan Cole with 7, Shadd Berg with 6, Coleton Lasseter with 5, Matt Mowery and Kameron Fitzpatrick with 4 each, and Brendarian Dawson with 2.

Johnson and Lasseter each had 4 assists for the Bobcats. Cole led with 7 rebounds, while Mitchell and Lassetter each had 6.

Game 2:

December 11 - Hallsville 53 - Weatherford 66

Hallsville led 24-22 at the half, but gave up points on consecutive possessions at the end of the 3rd stanza to trail 45-40. The Bobcats could not overcome the Kangaroos in the final period and fell 53-66 as Weatherford was able to extend the lead late by making their free throws.

Hallsville was led in scoring by Blaine Parker with 13 and Nolan Johnson with 11. Johnathan Mitchell finished with 9 points, while Ryan Cole had 7. Other Bobcats in the scoring column were Brendarian Dawson and Coleton Lasseter with 5 each, and Chris Timberlake with 3. Cole led with 8 rebounds, while Lasseter had 6 caroms. Johnson led with 3 assists, while Parker contributed 3 steals.

Game 3:

December 11 - Hallsville 56 - Bowie 46

Hallsville upped its energy in the day's second game and defeated the Jackrabbits. Ryan Cole and Blaine Parker led the Bobcats with 15 points each, while Nolan Johnson contributed 11. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Brendarian Dawson with 7, and Johnathan Mitchell and Matt Mowery with 4 each. Johnson led with 5 assists, while Cole had 3. Mitchell gathered 10 rebounds to go along with 5 blocked shots on the evening. Parker also contributed 7 rebounds.

Game 4:

December 12 - Hallsville 56 - Kennedale 71

The Bobcats were defeated by the Kennedale Wildcats on the last day of the tournament. Hallsville trailed 31-42 at the half and could just not get things going versus the hot shooting Wildcats in the second half. The Bobcats were led in the scoring column by Ryan Cole with 16. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Blaine Parker with 12, Brendarian Dawson with 9, Shadd Berg with 8, Nolan John with 5, Johnathan Mitchell with 4, and Matt Mowery with 2. Mitchell gathered 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, and dished out 4 assists. Johnson also had 4 assists.
