Hallsville Bobcats Tournament Champions at Rains ISD Thanksgiving Tip-Off!


The Hallsville Bobcats swept all four games of the Rains ISD Thanksgiving Tip-Off to take the Tournament Championship for 2015! Hallsville defeated Tom Bean 42-32; Rains 74-33; Quinlan Ford 55-37; and Royse City 81-46. Nolan Johnson was named tournament MVP.

Game 1: Hallsville Bobcats Varsity Emerge Victorious Against Tom Bean Tomcats

Hallsville had a 86-62 victory over Tom Bean Tomcats on Monday. With a 42-32 lead at the half, Hallsville Bobcats Varsity pulled ahead early in the game. With a field goal percentage of 60% (9-for-15), Parker had a great game from the field, scoring 24 points and also sinking 50% (6-for-12) of threes attempted. Johnathan Mitchell went into double digits, scoring 12 points for Hallsville (6-for-9). Nolan Johnson (12 points) and Shad Berg (9 points) each sunk multiple three-pointers. Also contributing for Hallsville were Ryan Cole (8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Coleton Lasseter (6 points, 4 rebounds), Brendarian Dawson (6 points, 2 rebounds), Matt Mowery (4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block), and Mason Oxsheer (4 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal). Mitchell was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up nine rebounds, one steal and one block. Hallsville finished the game with 40 rebounds (15 offensive / 25 defensive), three blocks and nine steals.

Game 2: Hallsville Bobcats Varsity Win Versus Rains Wildcats

Hallsville won in a 74-33 victory over Rains Wildcats on Tuesday. Hallsville Bobcats Varsity gained an early lead after a 23-point second quarter, running up the lead to 44-3 by halftime. Parker led the charge for Hallsville's offense, scoring 21 points, with 11 points during the first period. He also contributed three rebounds and four steals. Shad Berg put up two three-pointers and scored 12 points total. Three other players also racked up double digit scores for Hallsville. Nolan Johnson put up 12 points andBrendarian Dawson had 12 points. Also contributing for Hallsville were Ryan Cole (8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Coleton Lasseter (6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block), andJohnathan Mitchell (2 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals). Hallsville finished the game with 38 rebounds (17 offensive / 21 defensive), two blocks and 20 steals.

Game 3: Hallsville Bobcats Varsity Beat Quinlan Ford Panthers

Hallsville had a 55-37 victory over Quinlan Ford Panthers on Tuesday. Hallsville Bobcats Varsity grabbed the lead against Quinlan Ford Panthers on a three-pointer from Shad Berg in the second period and held on. Putting up a 23-21 lead at the half, Hallsville scored points early in the game. Hallsville solidified their lead in the third quarter, scoring 21 points. Cole led Hallsville's offense with 15 points, including eight during the third period. He also contributed three rebounds and one block. Blaine Parker (7 points) and Berg (6 points) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also helping the effort for Hallsville were Coleton Lasseter (9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks), Johnathan Mitchell (7 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals), Nolan Johnson (6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal), Kameron Fitzpatrick (3 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block), and Matt Mowery (2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block). Hallsville finished the game with 48 rebounds (19 offensive / 29 defensive), five blocks and 10 steals.

Game 4: Hallsville Bobcats Varsity Defeat Royse City Bulldogs

Hallsville were victorious against Royse City Bulldogs 81-46 on Wednesday. Hallsville Bobcats Varsity connected from the field early, claiming a 36-20 lead at the half. With 24 points in the fourth quarter, Hallsville increased their lead late in the game with a 13-3 run. Parker shot well from the field, making 50 (7-for-14) of shots attempted as well as 46.15384615384615 (6-for-13) of threes attempted (22 points). Nolan Johnson (14 points) and Shad Berg (11 points) each had multiple three-pointers. 2 other players also racked up double digit scores for Hallsville. Coleton Lasseter scored 10 points and Ryan Cole added 10 points.
