

Bobcats Defeat Mavericks in Harrison County Showdown Friday Night
Friday night saw Hallsville’s boys basketball team come away with a home victory over the Marshall Mavericks in battle of Harrison County in a 50-44 final. The Bobcats now hold a district record of 7-1 while the Mavs are 1-7 against district opponents. Anthony McDermott led the Bobcats in scoring with 16 points. HALLSVILLE 66, T. HIGH 63: TEXARKANA — The Hallsville Bobcats, paced by a combined 35 points from Anthon McDermott (18) and Kamron Gaut (17), rallied for a 66-63 win over Texas High. DQ Harrison added 12 for the Bobcats (26-3, 6-1), who trailed 15-10 after one quarter. PLEASANT 61: MOUNT PLEASANT — Luke Cheatham hit a running 3-pointer from the left wing at the buzzer, lifting the Hallsville Bobcats to a 63-61 win over Mount Pleasant in a four-overtime marathon on Friday at Bobcat Gymnasium. Lobos knock off No. 20 Bobcats, 59-49

Sheffield Making Most of Opportunity
Taylor Sheffield has been waiting for his turn to shine and now that it’s finally here, he’s making the most of it. SPRINGS 59: SULPHUR SPRINGS — Zachar Florence and Luke Cheatham scored five points a piece in overtime as Hallsville outscored Sulphur Springs 16-12 in the extra period for a 63-59 win in District 15-5A action on Tuesday. Hallsville’s boys basketball team was in control throughout the majority of Tuesday night’s game in Marshall where the Bobcats defeated the Mavericks 56-42.
